The Oak Lodge Cooking School
Schedule- Summer 2007
Rubs, Marinades, Aioli’s and Compound Butters- July 11th-
Learn how easy it is to make your own rubs and marinades to infuse
your dishes with tons of flavor. We will make a complete meal,
including appetizer using all our new techniques and you will go
home with your own customized rubs.
Chocolate!!! - July 18th-
If the title of this class is enough to make you sign up, then this
class is for you! We will learn about the different types of
chocolate and do a chocolate tasting. Chocolate is not just for
dessert, it’s the secret ingredient in many dishes, adding a complex
flavor. We will make a complete meal, including dessert, with the
ingredient that has been referred to as the food of the Gods!
Breakfast at the Oak Lodge- July
25th- We have so many requests for our breakfast offerings, this will
enable you make your favorites at home. Our own Oak Lodge granola,
delicious cinnabons, Orange essence baked French toast, Strawberry
soup (delicious and cold) and our good morning cookies to name a few
of the recipes we'll be making. This class will be offered in the
morning from 9-12 and we can enjoy coffee while we cook and eat.
Slow Food Movement/What's for Dinner?- August
1st- Back again by popular demand, this is our third year offering
this class. This year we will also be looking at the slow food
movement that promotes eating local, sustainable food.

Classes
will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon, unless otherwise noted.

Boat
rides from the Rockwood dock are available at no extra charge
for the participant and a guest fifteen minutes before the start
of the class.

Classes
will last approximately three hours and cost $40 per person.

Classes
are limited to six participants.

Prepayment
will hold your spot in the class and can be done by cash, check
or credit card.

Guests may wish to golf, climb the mountain or read on our front
porch.

Boat rides will be provided back to Rockwood at the conclusion
of the class.

Private classes are available for a minimum group size of four.
